Ok, so apparently I’m really good at my job, which entails keeping a website updated, but when it comes to updating for me, I’m a total nerd!
So, Christi, this post is for you!
After the new year, Brad surprised me with a trip to a cabin! We had both been running around so much during the holidays to see our families that we never felt like we actually got a break! So, Brad took me for a weekend to the Hideaway Ranch and Retreat. We had actually been there before, about 5 years ago (wow, I feel like an old married lady!), and we had enjoyed it, so I was really excited to go back! Here are a few pictures from the trip.
First, Brad and I stopped at the Dublin Dr. Pepper Factory in Dublin Texas, here we had a lot of fun on the tour, and I tried hot Dr. Pepper for the first time (not too bad!):

After Dublin, we made it to the cabins. It was probably the most relaxing weekend I’ve had in a very long time. Here is a picture of our little cabin…with my husband who seems to feel very manly at being there:

Here’s a makeshift collage of the inside:

That’s Brad in the window – he was outside grilling our dinner! The weather was amazing for a weekend in January!
On that Saturday, Brad took me to Fossil Rim Wildlife Center, just about 10 minutes up the road! I’d never been to a place like this, but I had always wanted to go – we got some great photos!
This is a deer (I think) that Brad made friends with:

At first I thought this was an Ostrich, which are mean little suckers! But, it was an Emu, and when Brad got this picture, I had just finished feeding it by hand…it was a little intimidating, but he was nice enough: ![]()

There were a million of these guys out there (forgive me I can’t remember what exactly they are called!), and they weren’t shy!
Brad got this awesome picture of a beautiful giraffe:

And finally, the zebras:

Our last night there, we took a walk around the cabins…there was a little pond about 50 feet from our cabin:

Hehe, I like this pic of us:

Ok, finally, on the day we were leaving, the cabin owners let us meet their horses, who were all named after different Indian tribes…Brad and I got to pet one who I think is called Cherokee…

Brad looks like he’s in deep contemplation with the horse here:

Anyway, that was the gist of our trip! Since then I’ve been up to my eyeballs with work, it’s just been crazy! The corporate guys are putting lots of pressure on the stations to sell web, so I’ve been constantly working on things….I guess that’s why I don’t feel like getting on the computer at night…I’m a little tired of web right now! But – I’ll just keep trying to sneak in a few posts here or there from work (but I didn’t say that)
The END…Literally!

What a nice present for you. Good job Brad! I remember going to a drive thru animal park in OK once and there was a ostrich that stuck his head in the car, like almost to the back seat. Glad that didn’t happen to you. :0)
